Journal article defends Lyme disease treatment

WHITE BEAR LAKE — The Minnesota Lyme Association, which meets monthly at First Lutheran Church, has a passionate spokesperson in Dr. Betty Maloney, medical advisor for the group. The family physician from Wyoming owns Partnership for Healing and Health Ltd., a provider of accredited continuing medical education on Lyme disease, and is a proponent of long-term antibiotic therapy for those infected. Extended antibiotic use for Lyme disease is a controversial topic Maloney has defended again and again.
