Year 2011 is bringing with it many different awareness events for Lyme Disease.

This year the Kansas Lyme Fighters and Lyme Association of Greater Kansas City are hosting its “Take the First Step, Join the Fight” Walk/5K Run on June 11. This is a great way for you to get involved and a great workout. I know there are some of you out there that can barely walk and are in wheelchairs. If you can, join the camaraderie that goes with it.

If not, no worries-perhaps, your friends or family will get a team together for you to show you their support. Have your support team take plenty of photos to share with others. We’d love for you to share them with us.

greater-kc-lyme-assoc1If you cannot take part in the walk/run, perhaps you may be able to volunteer your time by working at home. They are still in need of volunteers to work from home. They are in need of those that could “help us work throughout check list of hundreds of tasks to complete, and to help us find groups that will want to walk.”  Feel free to contact Peninah at the Kansas Lyme Fighters, Inc. by phone at 785-248-3504 or by fax at 785-371-0228 or http://www.KansasLymeFighters.com.
