About the Marshall Protocol

menu_top1I received this from LifeLyme about the Marshall Protocol; I found it very informative especially since I didn’t know much about it. The Marshall Protocol is based on the hypothesis that chronic diseases (Th1) and those they are a result of an infection by intraphagocytic, metagenomic microbiota , chronic bacterial forms (Th1 pathogens). They use the term intraphagocytic because it can hide itself in the cells they infect. As a result, they cause our body to release proteins and make us very tired (fatigue) and experience pain (inflammatory response). Biofilms and L-forms are also mentioned and what the Marshall Protocol does to target these different forms of bacteria. It continues to discuss how Vitamin D receptor plays into this process. The MP Treatment consists of Benicar, pulsed antibiotics, and avoiding certain types of Vitamin D and touches upon the sensitivity to sunlight while also on this treatment. Amy Proal goes into this whole process and the study thoroughly. You will also find that she offers a lot of helpful information in her comments section.  (There is also a video at the end Introduction to the Marshall Protocal.)

Who is Trevor Marshall, Ph.D.?

He “is a biomedical researcher. In 2002, Marshall published a pathogenesis for sarcoidosis followed in 2004 by the definitive paper in Autoimmunity Reviews “Sarcoidosis Succumbs to Antibiotics.”

Bacteriality Exploring Chronic Disease by Amy Proal, August 2007

“The Marshall Protocol is a medical treatment being used by physicians worldwide to treat a variety of chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases including (but not limited to) sarcoidosis, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, fibromyalgia, Crohn’s Disease, and rheumatoid arthritis. While other treatments for chronic disease use palliative medications in an effort to cover up symptoms, the Marshall Protocol is a curative treatment, which strives to address the root cause of the disease process.”

“The FDA has already granted orphan product designations for two of Autoimmunity Research Foundation’s six applications – Sarcoidosis, and Post Treatment Lyme Disease Syndrome (PTLDS, commonly known as chronic Lyme). The Foundation continues to work with the FDA to make effective therapies available in an even wider array of chronic diagnoses. “

“Information about the treatment can be found at the study site, marshallprotocol.com and also at autoimmunityresearch.org. The site is run by the staff of the Autoimmunity Research Foundation, a California-based non-profit agency.” Read more.

My objective for writing this report is to help inform the layman and the medical community about the extremely complex infection called Lyme disease. I have recently been infected with Lyme disease and I will share my experience and what I have learned about the complex nature of Lyme disease in this report. I continue to update this report and I foresee many revisions of it in the future as more information regarding Lyme disease surfaces. I have recently been introduced to a major medical breakthrough discovered by Dr. Trevor Marshall, research director at the Autoimmunity Research Foundation in Thousand Oaks, CA.  Read more.

Chapter 2: The Marshall Protocol

The Marshall Protocol is perhaps the most significant breakthrough in Lyme Disease treatment since Doug MacLean discovered in the 1980s how to employ a homemade rife machine (see Chapter 5) to heal his own Lyme infection. The reason the Marshall Protocol is so significant is that it addresses an aspect of the Lyme Disease complex which no other treatment, protocol, supplement or herb can even come close to touching. Marshall Protocol “A New Protocol for Autoimmune Illnesses, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia and Lyme Disease: Combating Cell Wall Deficient Bacteria and Excessive Inflammation” by J. C. Waterhouse, Ph.D. – Fall 2004

Abstract: This article gives a general outline of a possible cause and new treatment protocol for sarcoidosis and a number of illnesses involving TH1 inflammation. The evidence supporting this approach is strongest for sarcoidosis, however patients with a number of other illnesses, like rheumatoid arthritis, chronic Lyme disease, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, are also having promising initial results using this protocol. The Marshall Protocol for Treating Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia: Hopeful Results Emerging, November 22, 2006

Note: A number of patients with CFS, FM, and other chronic illnesses such as lupus and Lyme disease are reporting success with the experimental Marshall Protocol, originally developed for relieving the symptoms of patients with the “Th1” inflammatory disease sarcoidosis. Read more.
