OCEAN CITY — Ocean City police are retiring a horse from the mounted unit because of effects caused by Lyme disease. Goodnight, an 11-year-old horse, was diagnosed in 2011. The animal underwent treatment for the infection and was cured. However, the effects of the disease left him with a diminished capacity to perform his police duties.
