Special Friend

I have a special friend, and whilst he is in a faraway land,

He is always there to offer support, and a comforting hand.

He makes me smile, even when times are tough,

And the going gets a little rough.

His heart is full of generosity,

And he never holds on to animosity.

His thoughtfulness and understanding, a reflection of a soul full of caring.

For he is always there when I need a lift, forever a kind word he is sharing.

Whilst it is really not that long ago, strangers were we,

It sometimes seems like forever, that he has been around for me.

Through the laughter, the frustration, the sadness and tears,

He is always around to help sort through my fears.

Who is this friend? I hear you ask,

Well look in the mirror, it’s a simple task.

The kind eyes and reflection looking back at you,

Is the person in which my belief in great friendship grew.
