Within these groups across the United States and other countries, there are fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters and so forth. As Dr. Jemsek states, “sooner or later” your family will be affected by this growing disease and you, too, will be trying to make a difference.

“In the Lymelight” ~ Arizona Lyme Disease Association

Arizona Lyme Disease Association (AzLDA) is a 501(c) (3) Non-Profit affiliate of NEST, Inc.

It is run by committed volunteers that are made up of fathers, mothers, daughters, and sons. “We receive many calls and inquiries each month from people asking about Lyme Disease, names of doctors, education and support. We have regular monthly meetings in the Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff area.”

Their mission is advocacy, education and support.

AzLDA strives to do the following: Educate the medical community as well as the public; Assist and support those who are ill with Lyme Disease and the other associated diseases; Advocate “for better knowledge of Lyme disease within the medical community”; Advocate for research and development of new treatment methods.

AzLDA also has an on-line support group, which I have heard is one of the largest state-wide groups in the country which is at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/ArizonaLyme/
